Trending Topic: #PrettyWoman

We all want that Pretty Woman kind of love, without the whole hooker scene of course. For the most part women want to be saved, while men want to be the saviors. But things can't be always as they seem on film. On screen, they are filled with fairytale endings and Julia Robert’s leg double.
If you choose to take one thing from this, just know that the length of your arm is the size of your foot.
Point Of Post: Over-the-knee boots are all the rage now. #buyapair #gottalovethe90s

Shop-It: Country Strong

With a little help from Sony Picture's Country Strong, we can now add a little country into our wardrobe. Just because you are incorporating this into your ensemble doesn’t mean you have to go full on. I loved Leighton Meester’s white dress look in the movie, for the winter days pair this frock with a jeans jacket (cowboy boots optional). Now if you’re not into girly looks, borrow from the boys. Denim- on-denim has been in for quite sometime, embrace the look by pairing a light colored top and darker toned jeans.

Books-into-Film: Something Borrowed

In order to ease some of my boredom while I was job hunting this summer I started reading Emily Giffin’s Something Borrowed. Although I enjoy reading, it always takes me a couple chapters in to get hooked. But Giffin's plot was so intriguing after chapter 1 I could put the book down. I proudly finished the book in 2 days then went on to her next book Something Blue (read in 1 day). Personally, I enjoyed Something Borrowed more. Personally, I related more to the protagonist, Rachel, than the picture perfect Darcy. (Something Borrowed is from Rachel’s perspective & Something Blue from Darcy’s).

I'm really into reading books and then watching the film but I have found myself to be disappointed. I really hope this doesn't happen with this movie but there are bound to be discrepancies. Kate Hudson will be playing Darcy (the bride-to-be) and Ginnifer  Goodwin takes on he role of Rachel the long-life “faithful” friend. The loveable John Krasinki will be the focus of the love triangle as Ethan.

I recently finished reading another one of Giffin’s book Love the One You’re With which was an enjoyable book, did not compare to her first two. I want to continue reading more of her fiction stories (which have a lot to do with her real life- found this out by reading her bio). Her newest book is Heart of the Matter, where the protagonist is Nick, the brother of Dex (the male lead in Something Borrowed).
